3WAY-FM will be giving young people a platform to share their mental health stories in a special ‘R U OK? Day’ edition of the ‘This is Everything’ youth radio show.
The show aims to highlight the day by discussing how to identify when a friend or family member needs help, how to seek help and stories of mental health experiences.
The broadcast will be produced by the Waveform Media and Headspace youth reference groups. The show will air on 103.7 3WAY-FM on Wednesday September 9, and then again on SYN Nation on Friday September 11.
Trainers from the Melbourne’s SYN Media delivered a two day radio and multimedia workshop for the Waveform Media group in Warrnambool, Victoria over the weekend.
The nine participants were drawn to the training for various reasons including a volunteer who has ambitions of creating a television show to bring together the Sudanese community.
The training involved a temporary studio being set up in the Brophy Community and Youth Complex reception area.
Trainers from SYN will be holding a training weekend at Brophy in Timor Street Warrnambool this Saturday and Sunday from 11 til 4 both days.
The weekend is coordinated by the Waveform Media project helping find the next generation of radio and media stars, a collaboration of 3WAY-FM SYN Media and Brophy Family & Youth Services.
