Vision Australia Radio collaborates with Writers Festival for more immersive reading and writing experience

Vision Australia’s radio and library teams have collaborated with the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival for Read My Way, an immersive experience taking people on a journey through audio, braille and tactile literacy and learning.

Read My Way includes a panel of writers and people with lived experience who will discuss the creation of accessible formats, the challenges of finding alternatives in a print-saturated world, and the impact for people who have a print disability. There’ll also be a fun immersive experience of games and braille.

This is the second year Vision Australia has partnered with the Writer’s Festival with Jason Gipps, Vision Australia Radio’s Community Engagement Coordinator, saying:

“It’s wonderful to be back as a media partner of this informative and entertaining festival. Our deepening involvement will highlight the ways in which the local blind and low vision community can access information in alternative formats with the power of our audio and braille library, radio, and podcast services.”
