SCA hits more than one million listens for News on Demand

SCA has reached an important milestone, notching up more than one million listens to its digital News on Demand on smart speakers and apps, less than two years after launch.

Hit Dance lands on DAB radio

The Hit Network will expand its DAB offering, adding a fifth station called Hit Dance landing in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide today.
 
Featuring the hottest commercial dance music from the 90’s to now, Hit Dance will be centered on the past two decades, featuring artists from Martin Garrix and Calvin Harris to Peking Duk and PNAU.
 
This new station will offer lovers of dance music an up-tempo and vibrant sound, guaranteed to be the essential summer playlist.

SCA warns shareholders of a revenue drop and share price falls 22%

Southern Cross Austereo has provided shareholders with a trading update warning of a downturn in revenue following an 8.5% decrease in the September quarter figures when compared to the prior year.
 
All commercial radio dropped by 10.2% in the same period and SCA, the owner of the Triple M and Hit Networks, says EBITDA for the first half of this financial year is now expected to be in the range of $60M to $68M.

2GO to go, along with Sea FM and Gold 92.5

On Friday 8th November, two iconic brands on the Central Coast, 2GO and Sea FM disappear, rebranded Central Coast’s 107.7 Triple M and Central Coast’s Hit101.3 respectively.
 
Further up the coastline, The Gold Coast’s Gold 92.5 will become Goldie’s 92.5 Triple M.
 

Triple M goes Hard N Heavy on DAB+, and Hobart gets Country

Triple M will roll out another DAB+ Station tomorrow, October 1, with MMM Hard N Heavy launching in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with all Metallica all October.
 
Then, as a destination for lovers of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, fans can expect MMM Hard N Heavy to play everything from Metallica to Motley Crue, AC/DC to Anthrax, KISS to Korn.

Triple M’s Jane Kennedy claims to be Australia's biggest Brady Bunch fan, and over the past few weeks she had been working hard to get the TV series 'A Very Brady Renovation' on Australian TV.

The show has been airing in the US and features the six remaining members of the show attempting to re-create the Brady Bunch interiors in the house used for the Brady Bunch exteriors.

Audio revenue is up for SCA, while TV revenue is down

A 2.4% increase in Southern Cross Austereo’s Audio revenue, for metropolitan and regional radio plus podcasting, to $453.4 M has contributed to a modest overall growth in SCA's revenue of 0.5% to $661.0M.

The Hit Network rebrands digital city stations

The Hit Network’s digital radio brands will now be more directly aligned to the local FM station brands across the five capital cities with the name of Hit’s digital stations changing depending on the market and FM brand.
 
Easy Hits, for example will become Fox Easy in Melbourne, 2Day Easy in Sydney, and Hit Easy in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth.
