Triple M has counted down its controversial Ozzest 100 on Australia Day. 

Hottest 100 'weekend' on the way, meanwhile Triple M counts down the Ozzest 100

The discussion is over and triple j's Hottest 100 has moved from Australia Day to the next day, tomorrow January 27th.

triple j is now positioning its countdown as the Hottest 100 Weekend, widening out its 'ownership' of the concept from a single day to the whole long weekend.

Meanwhile, Triple M is on air today with its Aussie Music Australia Day countdown.

Hamish Blake gives Kennedy Molloy some tips for their new show

Hamish and Andy may no longer be heard on SCA's Hit Network, but it's hard to keep them away from radio.

Today Hamish Blake was back on air in his old timeslot, Drive, but on SCA's other station Triple M. He joined Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy to give them a few tips for their new show.

He had some good ideas about new segments for the show, which he was eager to pass on to his comedy colleagues.

Hawaiian residents and international tourists were left in a state of panic after receiving an alert stating there was an incoming ballistic missile heading towards the island.  It was a false alarm.

Picking up on the news, Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy posted their own social media message:

Triple M attracted criticism last month when the network announced plans to hold an Australian music countdown - 'Ozzfest 100' - on Australia Day, following triple j's decision to move the Hottest 100 to January 27 after a poll revealed 60 per cent of its listeners were in favour of moving the iconic countdown to a different date.

Triple M derided Triple J's decision in a statement at the time which said, "so, the taxpayer funded FM has decided that there'll be no soundtrack for Australia Day".
