Triple j 2014 hottest 100 countdown now open for voting

Voting is now open for triple j’s Hottest 100, the annual poll which asks listeners to vote for the best songs of the year.

Previous winners all stand out as songs which distinctly mark a moment in time, including last year’s Thriftshop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Gotye’s unexpected international smash Somebody That I Used To Know (2011), Angus and Julia Stone’s Big Jet Plane (2010) and Mumford and Sons Little Lion Man (2009).

Voters also go into the draw to win triple j’s Golden Ticket, which gets them and friend into toevery triple j-presented festival and gig in 2014, including: Laneway Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival, The National, Phoenix and the Arctic Monkeys.

The new Hottest 100 website includes artists such as Lorde, The Wombats, Vance Joy, Bring Me The Horizon, Alex Dyson and Lewi McKirdy listing their Top Ten favourite songs of the year.  

On Australia Day, Janurary 26, tune into the Hottest 100 countdown on triple j to see who will take out the number 1 spot in 2014.

Hottest 100 voting is open from today until midday Monday 20 January 2014 on the triple j website.
