The headline news is that all radio listening has increased this survey, during the Corona virus pandemic.

The Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth markets were the most volatile.

Last survey's Brisbane leaders (Nova and Triple M) fell, and two new stations (Hit and 97.3) took top position. In Adelaide, talk stations FIVEaa and ABC Adelaide both gained significantly and moved significantly up the rankings. In Perth Mix shot to the top position and unseated the former leaders.

Radio ratings survey 2: Listeners turn to news and talk in virus crisis

The results of radio ratings Survey 2 have just been released.

The survey was run under very unusual circumstances, with wave 1 affected by the bushfires and the current wave, affected by Corona virus. The next three surveys have been put on hold as a result of the virus (see our earlier report).

Nine Entertainment's former Macquarie Sports Radio stations have returned to the surveys, under their old station names.

Radio Survey 1 2020: stations buck expected trends

Results for the first metro market radio ratings survey of 2020 have just been released.

Nova gains ground in every market, except Adelaide, where it remains steady.

97.3 loses top position in Brisbane and Mix 94.5 falls from the top in Perth.

Macquarie Sports Radio is out of this survey due to the change of format mid survey from sport to music. "They will be there from Survey 2," according to Nine Entertainment.
