3MBS General Manager Anne Frankenburg and radioinfo’s own Steve Ahern led an excellent discussion during the Change Management and Sustainability workshop at the CBAA Conference.

Running a station requires a secure and sustainable management plan and both Frankenburg and Ahern addressed the roadblocks that people face when trying to make changes for the better within radio stations, particularly in the community sector.

The first harvest of graduates from the new Radio Training Institute is now ready for market.

Over a twenty-week period, 11 graduates have learnt from the experts and covered all areas of radio operation, culminating in a week long “simulation” broadcast, from the RTI Studios in South Melbourne.

They are now ready to take their next step in securing careers in broadcasting, but first will be honoured in a ceremony attended by family, friends, lecturers and industry leaders.

AMT's Steve Ahern and former Radio Australia CEO Mike McCluskey briefed the senior managers about a new training template developed by AIBD to help them spread understanding and usage of social media through their organisations.

Radio Training Institute students launch pop up radio station RTI FM

The Advanced Radio students of the Radio Training Institute are launching a temporary radio station, RTI FM, to be live streamed from Sunday 24th of May, 2015 until the 30th of May, 2015.

RTI FM will be completely hosted by the students with a wide array of shows and content, from special interest shows (travel, lifestyle, games, and genre specific music shows) to news and current affairs, and personality-driven breakfast and drive shows, showcasing the students' talents and providing experience in a real radio broadcasting setting.

RadioDays Europe coverage begins on radioinfo #RDE15

The Radio Days Europe conference has begun in Milan.

radioinfo's two reporters Barry Keohane and Steve Ahern will keep you up to date with what is happening.

In the two days before the conference, the radio stations of Milan mounted a celebration of radio called Radio City Milan, where stations brought their OB vans to a single site near the conference venue to broadcast programs and host talks and performances.

Students in the full time Advanced Radio Course at the Radio Training Institute this week learnt about music directing from RCS expert Mike Pfeiffer.

The twelve students are now in their 4th week of classes and have already had guest lectures from CRA's Joan Warner, radioinfo's Steve Ahern and Pfeiffer, amongst others.

Social Media training for broadcasters in Jakarta

In Jakarta this week a group of broadcasters from TVRI learnt the latest methods in social media reporting, from international trainer Steve Ahern.

As part of the training they filed reports from their smart phones about the course, learning new methods of capturing, editing and uploading content for their broadcast and for the web.

"Social media techniques multiply your message and help you be noticed by new audiences," said Steve.
