Last week 7HO was found to have breached the rules of the Broadcasting Services Act by not properly tagging a political ad with the required 'particulars' at the end of the ad.

This week in Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk is airing ads on Spotify that do not contain the required 'particulars' for political advertising, but she will not have any problems.

The communications and media watchdog has issued an alert about fake emails targeting Spotify Premium account users.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority says the emails carry the subject line: 'Your Spotify Premium payment isn't working'.

ACMA says the email will ask recipients to 'update your billing', with a link taking you to a fake sign-in page almost identical to the real Spotify website.

Pandora fails to keep in step with streaming services

It's understood Pandora is to close its Australia and New Zealand operations reportedly struggling to compete with Spotify and Apple Music for subscribers.

It was in March Pandora's inaugural Managing Director for the ANZ region, Jane Huxley, left Pandora to pursue other opportunities.

Spotify UK's 'best year ever'

Spotify UK has filed its annual company return, revealing some of its European revenue sources.

Company Director Barry McCarthy said: "2015 was a big year for Spotify... in many ways it was our best year ever."

He said the company has become the "number one pure play music service."

Total revenue increased from £ 159 million to £ 187 million, due mainly to increasing subscriptions.

He notes that the majority of new users of the service are now signing up on mobules not desktops.

Radio is the most popular thing to listen to, according to figures in the UK, the US, and now Australia, where the industry body Commercial Radio Australia has released new figures.

In each country, radio accounts for over 50% of all audio consumed, according to research released this year.

How Millennials use radio in 2016

Media strategist and researcher Mark Ramsey recently assembled a panel of Millennials at his Hivio conference, “exploring the future of radio, online radio, audio branding, podcasting, talent and audio advertising”.
Millennials, are young people born between 1980 and 2000, who look at music differently than previous generations.
