Spida Everitt joins Gold FM breakfast show

AFL ‘bad boy’ Spida Everitt has joined Southern Cross Media and will be heard as part of the 92.5 Gold FM breakfast team in 2011, and in other timeslots across the network.

Hitting the airwaves from the Gold Coast Media Centre this week, Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt joined breakfast duo Richard Fowler and Bridget Daley for breakfast. This follows his recent appointments as an announcer on Southern Cross Media’s Summer Home Straight and The Home Straight with Satts and Spida.

“While I’ll continue to present The Home Straight with Scott Sattler on Friday evenings, I’ve always wanted to be able to work in breakfast radio, so it’s an opportunity I’m really looking forward to making the absolute most of as I work with Richard and Bridge… I’ve even been practicing getting up at 3am,” Spida told radioinfo.

Spida played for St Kilda, Hawthorn Hawks and the Sydney Swans, and ended his career after 291 games, retiring in 2008. After on and off field antics during his football career, the tatooed Spida has recently used his fame to help aboriginal kids by holding coaching clinics in regional Australia and documenting his visits for television.
