SCA Chief Creative Officer, Guy Dobson, has resigned and will leave his role at SCA effectively immediately.

SCA, ACE and Grant get part of $1.8 million for cadets

Southern Cross Austereo, Ace Radio Broadcasters and Grant Broadcasters are among 41 regional companies to receive part of $1.8 million to support journalism cadetships in regional and remote areas.
 
This first funding round is part of the Federal Governments $60 million Regional and Small Publishers Cadetships Program aimed at setting up 200 cadetships over the next 2 years.
 

SCA partners with Beyond Blue and The Smith Family

Southern Cross Austereo have entered into a  two-year partnership with Beyond Blue and The Smith Family as part of its charity program, SCA Embrace, commencing January 1, 2019.
 
The two charities will be provided support via community service announcements and content opportunities across SCA’s extensive radio, television and digital networks.
 

SCA's Gina Hogan has been elected to the Committee for Perth

General Manager at Southern Cross Austereo Perth, Gina Hogan, has been elected to the board of the Committee for Perth for a three year term.
 
Along with the Chairman of WA Super, Tim Shanahan, Gina will fill a vacancy left by the recent retirement of two board members and says joining the Board will give her the chance to give something back to her recently adopted home having moved from Cairns last year.
 

KOFM is gone forever, replaced by Triple M Newcastle

KOFM disappeared from the dials and screens of Newcastle radio forever this morning to be replaced by Triple M Newcastle.

 
KO has been part of a station call sign in Newcastle since 2KO went to air in the suburb of Kotara on August 1, 1931, becoming KOFM in October, 1992.
 
The move to Triple M Newcastle has been planned for some time to bring the station into line with the rest of the Southern Cross Austereo stable of stations.

Gold Coast Survey 3, and AJ, Bridge & Spida are #1

Gold FM has moved into a solid second place on the Gold Coast, with an audience gain of 2.2 to give them 14.1 in the latest survey, just behind Hot Tomato's 15.3 (down 0.3) and in front of SEA FM's 10.7 (down 0.9).

GOLDFM's biggest gain is in breakfast with AJ Bridge & Spida gaining 3.0 to move into first place on 14.8, and leapfrogging both SEAFM (11.5) and Hot Tomato (14.4).

On the back of breakfast GOLDFM had solid gains across all sessions.

As a result of extensive fundraising efforts across its radio and television networks, Southern Cross Austereo is celebrating a record-breaking year for its annual charity drive, Give Me 5 for Kids, which raised $2,581,548 across Australia in 2017.  

KOFM raises $20,000 with Give me 5 for Kids launch

KOFM has managed to raise $20,000 on the first day of it's annual charity campaign, Give Me 5 for Kids.

This year the station is raising money to help children undergoing treatment at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

Last year $56,000 was raised which helped provide Air / Oxygen Blenders for the neonatal intensive care unit. These devices help ensure that the babies receive the correct amount of oxygen.
