Snow FM and 2XL make Christian mobile

A heart warming story from Radio Snowy Mountains.

2XL and Snow FM were contacted last week by a local mother whose son, Christian, has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Christian is starting school next year and needs a new wheelchair, which unfortunately is expensively priced at $6,000 making it impossible for his family to purchase on their own.

The stations are about to begin a campaign and are coming together with the community to raise money and have a silent auction over the first week of September to help.

Radio Snowy Mountains’ Emily Goddard has told radioinfo:

“We are very pleased to have so many people joining together to help, Dan and Maz, Hamish and Andy, Jonesy and Amanda and Ray Hadley and The Continuous Call Team. We also have had the pleasure of local Olympic athletes Scott Kneller, Torah Bright and Russ Henshaw donate some of their 2014 Sochi Olympic gear.

“The ACT Brumbies, Canberra Raiders and 2011 World Cup Wallabies Rugby teams have all donated signed jerseys, which is great to have the sporting community involved. We also have been lucky enough to get Christians favourite group the Wiggles apart of Making Christian Mobile by donating a family pass and meet and greet at their Canberra show.

“We are so excited to get this going next week to help out Christian, any money over $6,000 raised will be going to The Monaro Early Intervention Services, who help families with children suffering from autism.”
