A battle of the radio jocks took place on the Gold Coast on the weekend with rugby league player-turned-Sea FM announcer Ben Hannant taking on former AFL star-turned-Gold FM announcer Spida Everitt in the Gold Coast Airport marathon
Over 27,000 entrants took part in this year's event and both radio stations broadcast live from the event day, including live crosses with the boys as they ran.

Heather Maltman, Dan Anstey and Ben Hannant, are the team with their show – Get Up with Heather, Dan and Ben for Breakfast.

EON increases revenue

The Ocean Capital 2014/15 financial report has been released, highlighting a 20.8% increase in EON Broadcasting’s revenue.
EON is the parent company of Mix FM and Sea FM on the Sunshine Coast, with 95% owned by Ocenia Capital Partners and 5% owned by Glenn Wheatley.
EON’s revenue increased $1.2m to $8.9m and EBITDA grew by $730,000 to $2.7m.

Sea FM listener gets a rude awakening

Sea FM’s Galey Ross & Charli have no sympathy for people who struggle to get up in the morning. Their 4am starts make fitness junkies, bankers and truckies alike look like lazy uni students.
Envious of those in the Gold Coast who get to sleep in, the trio started the segment Rude Awakenings.
Intern Zac was sent out with a local Barber Shop Quartet to wake up James, an unsuspecting sleeper who was nominated to take part in the segment by his housemates.

The breakfast show with Galey, Ross and Charli collected truck loads of items to help survivors of Cyclone Pam at an outside broadcast from Kurrawa Park in Broadbeach this morning.

The Sea FM Breakfast show with Galey, Ross and Charli has put the call out to the Gold and Tweed Coasts to help donate to the Give to Vanuatu appeal.
Earlier this week the trio spoke to Cassie Phelan who lives in Vanuatu, but had been holidaying on the Gold Coast while Cyclone Pam hit her home.

Matt Acton leaves Sea FM for Kiis 101.1 drive

Sea FM Breakfast announcer Matt Acton will depart Southern Cross Austereo Gold Coast on December 12th after two years in the seat.

The move will see him co-hosting Kiis 101.1's drive show with Hughesy and Kate, broadcast across the network.

At this point It is unclear who will host Sea FM breakfast next year, with no news surrounding Acton's co-presenters Paul "Galey" Gale and Charli Robinson.

Sea FM to drop $100k at Dreamworld

Sea FM Breakfast hosts Galey, Matt and Charli are gearing up to give away a $100k in a cash catching competition at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

Taking place on Friday April 11 at 8:30am, the event will see Dreamworld’s Main Street blanketed in a sea of cash. Three lucky listeners will fight it out to take home the most cash, which will be dropped from the sky by Galey, Matt and Charli.

$100K worth of Sea FM-branded $5 notes will be dropped from above, which will be rewarded to the listeners as real cash by the station shortly after.
