Broadcaster Darren Madigan was just 49 when he died last year, 12 years after receiving a heart and lung transplant.
He' was dubbed "The walking encyclopedia of sport" and cherished his broadcast time on Tweed - Gold Coast radio at the ABC, as well as a stint as Drive announcer for the Super Radio Network at 2NZ Inverell. 
He also worked as a contributor in the 4BC newsroom.

U.S. network could pick up Aussie radio show

Award winning news presenter, Scott Mayman has made that transition. He now hosts the Breakfast show on Radio 97 broadcasting into the Gold Coast from the NSW/Qld border.

In June this year,  Radio 97 launched its own radio version of the classic TV show "Blankety Blanks".  It only last 5 weeks,  but it was a lot of fun.

The Tweed's Radio 97 will launch its own version of the popular Blankety Blanks Australian quiz show this month.

Breakfast presenter Scott Mayman has adapted the popular 1970s quiz show to bring it to radio for the first time.

"We all loved the antics and wit from the show...this is a radio adaptation, so I've had to change a few things for the radio medium," says Mayman.

Following confirmation one of the 2019 Origin games will be played in Perth, Anthony Laffranchi has used his Radio 97 morning show segment to call on officials to consider the Tweed as an alternative location to host one of next year's Origin encounters.
"It's a funny one", he told breakfast host Scott Mayman during his regular discussion topic.
