Following the consolidation of its vast radio network into two principle brands across Australia, Hit and Triple M, Southern Cross Austereo has relaunched its websites and, as well as updated the Hit and Triple M apps for iOS and Android.

There were Seas and Hots and Stars plus a bevy of bits and bobs, all the result of numerous mergers and acquisitions that over several years brought together the considerable resources of stations from Austereo, RG Capital, DMG, Southern Cross, B105, Triple M, FOX and 2Day, among many others, to arrive at an owned network that today boasts the broadest commercial radio footprint Australia has ever seen.

Finally, today, all those disparate names and call signs have been wrangled, distilled and reduced to just two essential elements - HIT and Triple M. Well, almost.

Triple M & Supercars Australia sign exclusive radio partnership

Southern Cross Austereo  has signed a five-year exclusive radio partnership with Supercars Australia to promote the sport through the Triple M Network.
SCA's CEO Grant Blackley said it was excited to partner with one of Australia's leading sports.
"Supercars is one of the most important and influential sports in Australia and is absolutely aligned with our core fan base on Triple M," he said.

Radio launches streaming app with 250 commercial and non commercial stations

The Australian radio industry has come together to launch RadioApp, a new mobile app that allows consumers to live stream 250 Australian radio stations on the go.
It’s not quite Tinder, but you do swipe right or left to find your favourite radio stations in the list of ABC and Commercial stations from around Australia.

Southern Cross Austereo  and PodcastOne have signed a long-term partnership to create PodcastOne Australia, a brand and platform that will bring the best in podcasting directly to listeners.
SCA will operate PodcastOne Australia as the exclusive partner in Australia and New Zealand  with select SCA podcasts made available in the US on the PodcastOne platform.

Triple M digital the best for sports coverage in Australian radio

Southern Cross Austereo’s online platforms are still #1 in the radio game, according to Nielsen’s* digital ratings for September 2016.

Overall, SCA has seen its highest Average Daily Unique Browsers (ADUBs) across all online platforms with 420,000.

Following a huge month of some of Australia’s best NRL and AFL finals coverage, Triple M is the #1 radio group for the first time ever with a Unique Audience (UA) of 606,000. Triple M’s online sporting content attracted a massive 165,000 ADUBs, a 148% increase year on year.
