CSU delivers professional development course for radio industry

Selected personnel from one of the nation's leading media organisations last week completed the final phase of a specially-tailored course at Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Bathurst.

New national radio show for Hit

A new national night time show Ash London LIVE will start on the Hit Network tonight – with Ash London (obviously) the new host.
A big point of difference on this show is the expansion of music offering - week one will feature interviews with Peking Duk, What so Not, Tkay Maidza, Two Door Cinema Club. 

All acts you might not expect to hear on commercial radio. 

SCA's Listen Up takes on drink-driving

Southern Cross Austereo's ‘Listen Up’ commercial-free campaign will be airing tonight at 6pm, raising much needed around drink-driving within Western Australia.

The one hour, statewide simulcast special features insightful interviews and first-hand accounts of the devastating effects of drink-driving.

‘Listen Up’ follows a previous campaign about ice-addiction, which was a WA first, also broadcasting across all SCA stations, including hit92.9, mix94.5, HOT FM and Radio West.

Grant Blackley tells shareholders 2Day is a 'key area of focus'

Grant Blackley has addressed the Southern Cross Media Group’s AGM after his first full year as Chairman of SCA.
He says 2DAY FM in Sydney remains a “key area of focus” with Rove and Sam’s breakfast show “beginning to win back audiences” amid the Group’s improved financial performance, providing shareholders with franked dividends of 6.75 cents per share.
Reinvesting in talent within the network has been a “clear priority” within metro radio over the past year.

SCA offers radio graduate internship award

Southern Cross Austereo has partnered with the Australian Film Television and Radio School  to give one talented graduate the opportunity of a lifetime.

A new internship award will be offered to one lucky 2016 Graduate Diploma in Radio graduate, providing them with six weeks, full-time, paid employment at a regional radio station owned by SCA, immediately following their graduation.

While there has been no official announcement OMG! appears to be the new DAB+ brand that SCA has launched to replace Classic Rock which closed down because it had too many listeners.
The Triple M spin-off station was eating into the cume audience of its parent station Triple M.
Cumes illustrate audience size, "estimating the unduplicated number of people reached by a station at least once during a particular time period," according to GFK's audience survey definitions.

Radio listeners concerned by rebranding of heritage station

Three-quarters of Toowoomba Chronicle readers are not happy about Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M rebrand announced last month arguing they don't want to lose the historic 91 year-old call sign 4GR.

From December 15, 2016, 25 of SCA’s ‘LocalWorks’ stations, will take on the Triple M brand.

Keith Urban performed at 2DayFM's World Famous Rooftop in Sydney today, in front of avid listeners and clients.

Hosted by Rove & Sam, Keith performed songs from his ARIA #1 album Ripcord including the platinum single 'The Fighter' and new single 'Wasted Time' as well as an amazing cover of Mike Posner's 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza'.

"We had a good time today, I wish we could have played longer!!! Looking forward to coming back in December," Urban said.
