Daniel Thomas celebrates 20 years in radio

97.3FM’s Daniel Thomas celebrates a Radioversary this week having kicked off his commercial radio journey 20 years ago, on Friday December 10 1999, at Melbourne’s TTFM (Now KIIS 101.1). 
Like many others, Daniel says his radio dream began early, and from age 4 he was recording mix-tapes and pretending to be a radio jock on a double cassette boombox with mic.

River 94.9’s Christmas Water Warriors head to Stanthorpe

River 94.9’s Christmas Water Warriors are at it again, going to the aid of Stanthorpe residents who are still doing it tough.
Water isn’t the only thing they need however it is extremely important, so River 94.9 has re-joined forces with Mandy from Mum on a Mission, Queensland Bottlers and Ipswich Tickets to collect as much bottled water as they can to take it to Stanthorpe at the end of November.

Stanthorpe and the surrounds have been ravaged by fires recently and it’s clear residents are doing it tough.
Now, on top of the fires, the town is set to run out of water by the end of December this year, or January next year.
River 94.9 has joined forces with Mandy from Mum on a Mission Water Drive with the aim to collect a substantial amount of bottled water for the community and will travel to Stanthorpe in a couple of weeks to deliver all the water that has been collected.

Monday 4 March started out like any other day for River 94.9’s Promotions Coordinator, Bree Lenehan when she set off to do her usual Breakfast Show Live Crosses.
Bree was driving through Ipswich when she spotted a man sitting on the side of the road with a sign that read “Please help, I need work. I have no income. Live in my car. Have blood cancer. Thank you” so she decided to pull over to see what he was doing.

8 March is all about women on River 94.9 FM

River 94.9 FM will celebrate International Women’s Day, with an all-female line-up from 9am.
Following breakfast with Marnie and Campo, beginning at 9am, it’s all about the women with Marnie’s 94 Minutes of Non-Stop Music, Ali Fyfe will take over from 10am to 2pm and the day will finish off with Michelle Anderson from 2pm – 6pm.

River 94.9 FM’s Bowser Wowser saved listeners stacks at the fuel pump
With fuel prices continuing to sky rocket past $1 per litre, River 94.9 joined forces with a local business, Barb’s Kitchen, to offer fuel to listeners at a price no one has seen in many years.
Today, Barb’s Kitchen on the Warrego Highway in Marburg  turned back the clock and offered River 94.9 listeners fuel for just 94 cents per litre.

River 94.9 FM’s Apple for the Teacher returns from next Monday, the 15th of October, and primary schools in and around Ipswich are encouraged to nominate their favourite primary school teacher.
Across south east Queensland there are over 200 primary schools, with one winning teacher and their entire class in the running for over $5,000 in prizes.

River 94.9 Barn Dance to support Buy a Bale

Ipswich’s River 94.9 are holding it's first ever Barn Dance this Saturday in support of drought affected farmers.
100% of the ticket price will go to the farmers to raise money for Buy a Bale.
River 94.9 teamed up with Porters Plainland Hotel who will hold the event on their premises this Saturday from 3pm – 6pm.
Caitlyn Shadbolt will headline the event with a performance at 5pm.

Battle of the Buns is back
