Richard Aedy to present ABC Radio National’s Life Matters

ABC Radio National has announced the appointment of Richard Aedy as the new presenter of Life Matters.

He’ll take up the position at the start of the 2006 Radio National program schedule, commencing 23 January.

Aedy first honed his journalistic and broadcasting skills overseas in New Zealand and the UK, spending five years in London. Whilst at the BBC he won awards for medical and science programming.

He joined ABC Radio National in 1998 as Executive Producer of science but subsequently returned to the microphone. Armed with a sharp and inquisitive mind he has presented and produced programs as divergent as the Media Report and The Buzz.

In 2005 he filled in as the Life Matters presenter following the departure of Julie McCrossin. Strong listener feedback shows that he has won over the hearts of the program’s loyal audience confirming that McCrossin hasn’t got her old job back after her short stint on 702 breakfast.
