In the wake of the North Queensland Cowboys 2015 NRL Premiership and 2016 World Cup wins, Southern Cross Austereo and Resonate Radio Networks will this week launch ‘The Cowboys Chargedown’ – a weekly, one hour NRL show across 11 regional Queensland markets with a major focus on the team in the gold, blue and grey.
 
Cowboys Call Team commentator Wayde Chiesa and Triple M NRL’s Anthony Maroon will host the program that promises to be a must-listen for die hard rugby league fans who follow the North Queensland Cowboys.
 
Co-host Wayde Chiesa says the Thursday afternoon show will air from 5pm to 6pm and feature interviews with players, coaching staff and former greats from both the Cowboys and across the country.
 
“The Cowboys play a very special brand of football and have proved since 1995 that they are a team who loves to support the community that supports them. We can’t wait to talk to the players and coaches from the Cowboys and their opposing teams at the start of every NRL weekend and offer rugby league fans something new and exciting for all their NRL news and discussion.”
 
Southern Cross Austerero Content Director for Regional Queensland Blair Woodcock believes the show will add to the network’s already extensive NRL coverage:
“Between them, Wayde and Maroon have called and watched every Cowboys game over the past seven years so we know there is no one better in the game to bring this show to life every week. The Cowboys Chargedown hour of radio will confirm beyond a doubt that this radio network is the home of NRL and the Cowboys in 2016.”
 
The program starts tomorrow (Thursday March 3rd) and will air on SCA stations in Cairns, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Mackay, Rockhampton and Gladstone, as well as other stations across Queensland on Resonate Radio.
