Macquarie Media's head of digital Richard Palmer is leaving 2GB on good terms with his colleagues, especially Ray Hadley.

Palmer will take up a position with Triton Digital as Director of APAC Market Development. He begins tomorrow.

Ray Hadley 'censorship' spat continues

SCA has issued an extended statement relating to ongoing disruptions to Ray Hadley's Triple M broadcast about a local court case in Orange: 

'On several occasions this week as a result of legal advice SCA has decided not to broadcast parts of the program.  These decisions were based solely on legal advice and were not influenced by any commercial considerations, including the fact that West Orange Motors has a commercial relationship with SCA. Attempts to frame this issue as one of censorship and free speech are misleading.

Triple M stations pull Hadley feed again: listeners not happy

There has been another development in the continuing saga between 2GB's Ray Hadley and the SCA's regional Triple M network today.

SCA has pulled the feed whenever Ray mentions the regional legal case that began the issue, but, instead of just pulling it in NSW, which is the legal jurisdiction for the case, the feed has been blanked out all across the SCA regional Triple M network.

Today, on his 2GB Morning show, Ray Hadley read out a statement about a police investigation concerning an employee of West Orange Motors. You can listen to the details below.

The program is networked across Triple M’s regional stations and the dealership happens to be one of Triple M’s biggest advertisers in the Orange market. It seems they were none too flattered to hear Hadley mention their brand in a negative light in their hometown.

This morning on Triple M Grill Team Matty Johns surprised Ray Hadley on his birthday – with a performance of the Village People’s Macho Man and a lap dance.

With most breakfast radio shows on survey break this week it was the last thing Ray expected, the Grill Team have remained on air this week due to the NRL Grand Final, yet he seemed to enjoy it.

'Truth' and 'Fair Comment' wins court battle for Hadley

Ray Hadley and his employer, 2GB (Harbour Radio) have beaten a defamation suit brought on by two former directors of the Parramatta Eels NRL Club.

After 20 months of pleadings over derogatory on-air remarks made by Hadley, ex-chairman Steve Sharp and ex-deputy chairman Tom Issa, have dropped the case and are liable to pay significant legal costs.

Judge Lucy McCallum, in the NSW Supreme Court, ­ordered Mr Sharp to pay Harbour Radio, $60,000 in costs with Mr Issa’s costs yet to be ­determined.
