$116,515.25 has been raised by the Regional Western Australian community in this year’s Give Me Five For Kids 2016 charity drive.
 
The amount raised will go towards Perth’s Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, where it will help families with children receiving treatment at the Hospital be able to have accommodation and not worry about the cost with the Regional Assistance Fund.
 
Every dollar donated to the Regional Assistance Fund will help make a difference to a sick child and their family.
 

Radio ratings for the mining city of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia have been released.

Primary school children across Regional WA will start Easter on Wednesday April 1st with an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt hosted by SCA’s RadioWest Network.
 
Nine separate Easter Egg Treasure Hunts will take place simultaneously across Regional WA, with over 4,000 kids aged from 0-12 expected to take part, finding tokens, toys and chocolate eggs.
 
RadioWest will also be broadcasting live on Wednesday afternoon, crossing to each one of the events over the course of the afternoon to provide network-wide updates to its listeners.

RadioWest stations right around WA have held Easter egg hunts for kids in their local community.
 
From Kalgoorlie to Bunbury kids turned out in their hundreds last week to get into the Easter spirit a bit early and search for their first Easter Eggs of the season.
 
In Bunbury, RadioWest was also asking for gold coin donations to go towards the Give Me 5 for Kids campaign to support the local hospital. 

After a long campaign to bring Jamie Oliver’s pop up kitchen to Bunbury, the town has missed out to Colonnades Shopping Centre in South Australia, much to the chagrin of Radio South West breakfast hosts Cliff & Dougie.
 
There was tough competition for the spot after the search received a huge response with 170 applications, over 1100 letters of support, 15,000 signatures on petitions and 30,000 likes on Facebook.

Jamie Oliver is not coming to SWIT.

Bunbury has a one in eight chance of hosting the next Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food pop-up and RadioWest is backing the initiative all the way.
 

Radiowest announcers Jamie McDonald and Doug Terry stepped away from the mics on Saturday night and swapped their live read folders for boxing gloves to raise money for local charity, The Police Legacy fund. 
 
While Doug showed great skill punching one of the station’s advertisers in the face he lost on points.  Jamie McDonald hit the canvass completely unconscious halfway through his bout after taking a brutal left hook to the head. 
 

Christmas is a tough time for many families and through Southern Cross Austereo’s annual campaign to raise toys and food for the Salvation Army, RadioWest’s breakfast duo Cliff and Dougie have helped their community raise some Christmas cheer

Setting up a trailer disguised as a present at a local shopping centre throughout November and December they have filled it at least 4 times over.

Dougie said: “It really just helps those families doing it tough, it’s not a hand out, it’s a hand up.”
