With trust in media a hot topic at present, the subject was on the agenda at last week’s Radiodays Asia conference in Kuala Lumpur.
While there has been much discussion of the journalistic requirements for building trust, not a lot has been said about how trust needs to be part of the fabric of the whole media organisation, not just the newsroom or the social media team.

Michael Hill from Radioplayer says “defending the dash board for radio” must be one of the world radio industry’s biggest priorities.

“We have to work together globally and establish standards and interfaces. We also have to offer plug and play and pitch a vision to the global car companies.

“Car companies think globally, so we have to link up as radio across the world to go forward with our own strategies. We cannot rely on Google, Amazon and Tune to help radio, they have their own business agendas.”

International pop icon and radio presenter Kim Wilde will be a star guest in Dublin at this year’s RadioDays Europe convention in March.
Kim will be taking to the stage to talk to award-winning radio consultant Francis Currie about her music, her life and how radio has been important to her career, both as a singer as a successful radio DJ.
