A website has been created in response to the ABC’s decision to cut music programming from Radio National.
The site, is also urging people to sign an on-line petition arguing the decision has “disastrous implications for the independent and non-mainstream music industry in Australia, and for listeners Australia-wide, particularly in remote or regional areas”.

To celebrate their "10th anniversary podcast" The Real Thing is teaming up with Audiocraft to play two unique live shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

ABC RN’s The Real Thing is a podcast in search of the real Australia. Each week Mike Williams and Timothy Nicastri venture into the corners to discover the characters, scenes and stories that make this country unique.

The guys will bring music, a bit of magic and most importantly, their unique take on Australian stories to your ears (and eyes!).

ABC staff pass no confidence motion in management

ABC RN staff have moved a no-confidence motion against radio management over recent radio division cuts.

More than 60 Radio National staff met at the broadcaster's Ultimo office today.

The CPSU has confirmed to radioinfo that staff unanimously passed a motion of no confidence, citing " systemic failure" in senior radio management and "the erosion of the editorial and managerial responsibilities of executive producers."

In what is believed to be a world-first, the Australian public will be stamping their personal imprint on biological history, and ‘naming a creature’ that is new to science.

Off Track, ABC RN’s environmental science program, in conjunction with the Western Australian Museum, is running a competition to name the species.

It’s a nudibranch — a type of flambouyant sea slug which lives around the edge of North West Australia.

Fran Kelly's hidden talent

Fran Kelly is a respected radio presenter, current affairs journalist, political correspondent and host of RN Breakfast.
Perhaps she should be adding singer to that list.
