Radcomms 2010 conference next week in Melbourne

Radcomms2010, the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s fourth conference on radiofrequency spectrum management will be held at the Sofitel Melbourne next week, on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 May 2010.

The conference, themed Spectrum, powering a mobile world, will offer an opportunity to hear the latest developments, future trends and challenges in radiofrequency spectrum management.

ACMA Chairman Chris Chapman says: “RadComms2010 offers the Australian radiocommunications industry an opportunity to get together and discuss their views on current spectrum management issues. We are very pleased to be offering delegates an exciting agenda including an address from the Minister Stephen Conroy.”

Topics of interest to be covered at RadComms210 include future of free to air television, digital dividend and mobile services and spectrum policy developments and challenges, a DBCDE perspective.

The ACMA “continues to seek a balance between government and industry perspectives,” according to Chapman, who is looking forward to industry taking the opportunity to present on issues “rather than just having the regulator run the agenda.”

As at ACMA’s previous RadComms conferences, there will be panel sessions at the end of each day providing a platform for open discussion on key issues covered during the day.

The first night of the conference will provide an informal networking opportunity for all conference delegates at the cocktail reception at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
