More SCA stations turn audio streams back on

In an important move by Australia's biggest regional network, Southern Cross Austereo has turned its digital streaming back on for an additional eighteen regional radio stations.

Listeners can access the live broadcast streams from station websites and apps.

SCA’s Head of Regional Media, Rick Lenarcic is pleased the network can now offer local audiences more ways to hear their favourite music and local information.

Indies hold out for better deal from YouTube music video service

Independent recording artists are holding out against YouTube in a rights payment dispute that may see indies such as Adele and Arctic Monkeys taken off the popular video sharing service.
YouTube, now owned by Google, is planning to launch a music subscription service in competition with streaming music services such as Pandora and Spotify, and is putting licence agreements in place with music publishers in preparation for the launch.

There is no more staunch supporter of Australian music than Glenn Wheatley. Himself, a musician; bass player in legendary 1960’s – ‘70’s rock band The Masters Apprentices, Wheatley went on to manage superstars including John Farnham, Delta Goodrem and the Little River Band.
