Radio station gives locals the chance to say goodbye to Puzzle Park

Friday 11 November, 2016
Local radio station PowerFM was granted exclusive access to the old Puzzle Park site to give it a final farewell.

The site, currently owned by developers, is set to become housing in the not too distant future. Until then, the rides sit untouched, just a little more run down than when the park’s doors closed nearly 10 years ago.

In its heyday, the adventure park attracted up to 3000 visitors who willingly hurtled down 20-foot high steel slides, jumped aboard giant rocking giraffes and hit the go-kart track.

As it became obvious early Sunday morning that the already shocking weather conditions were due to worsen with the approaching low weather pattern heading south, the East Coast Radio team immediately jumped into action.

AFTRS students reunite on-air

Monday 01 February, 2016

Finding the right co-host for a new brekky show can be a struggle. Will there be chemistry? How long will it take to get to know each other and form a bond? How can we be sure they’re not really a serial killer?

The struggle is real but it’s made a lot easier when the pair already know each other.

As fate would have it, the new brekky show in Wagga Wagga have had a past life together; studying and working together at AFTRS in 2013.

The stork has arrived in the Hunter Valley

Friday 14 August, 2015
It was a morning of surprises at Power FM Hunter Valley of Friday with one half of the Power Brekkie Show Nicky Ainley announcing that she is pregnant with not one, but two babies on the way.

A bit of a shock all round, not only for the audience, but also with her co-host Sebba Claassen, as he had completely no idea.

Nix cleverly opened it up with a phone topic, and then led onto making the announcement. Seb was pretty gobsmacked, so Nix let that sit for a second before hitting him with the second blow of twins.
