Game Changers Radio has put together a brand-new series of interviews with radio people who have decided to no longer be radio people.
 
I’m out Now what is aiming to give those who have faced or may face redundancies from radio from preparing for that meeting with the GM to discuss your future, to how to give everything for the role you have today while keeping an eye on the future.

The Australian Podcast Awards have announced the categories and entry dates for the Australian Podcast Awards 2020.
 
There are new categories to choose from, and a new way to showcase work following decisions based on feedback and from looking at similar shows around the world.
 
The key rules changes are:

Podcast downloads pass 43 million in July: Triton

iHeartPodcast Network adds new Aussie content as listening climbs 31%

ARN has released new podcast listener data for July with leading podcast technology provider Megaphone.
 
The data captured from over 800 thousand Australian devices, shows listening on the iHeartPodcast Network is up 31% since before the pandemic (Jan-mid-March v mid-March to July).
 
 

Matt & Alex celebrate a podcast milestone

It was only May when comedy duo Matt Okine and Alex Dyson served up Australia’s first on-demand breakfast show, Matt & Alex – All Day Breakfast - on PodcastOne Australia.
 
Fast forward to August and the duet are celebrating with a champagne breakfast after notching up an impressive 1 million downloads. 
 

2SER's The History Lab is shortlisted for the NSW Premier's History Awards

The History Lab podcast made by Impact Studios at the University of Technology Sydney, with media partner 2SER, has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's Digital History Prize for the NSW Premier’s History Awards.

The podcast is the brainchild of historian and host Associate Professor Tamson Pietsch, who in 2018 pitched to co-creator and Executive Producer Emma Lancaster the idea of "an audio experiment where we ‘do’ history for your ears”.
