Apollo 13 podcast blasts off to the top

A new podcast about NASA’s Apollo 13 mission became the #1 documentary podcast on Apple Podcasts with over 100,000 downloads.
 
The show is produced by Forensic Engineer Sean Brady and podcast agency Wavelength Creative.

Fremantle Media enters the podcasting arena in partnership with Acast

Screen production company Fremantle Media has entered the audio space, teaming up with Acast to produce a range of scripted and unscripted content.

The first production, a true crime podcast called Chasing Charlie, will be released next week.

SEN podcasts break new ground

SEN is claiming bragging rights for two programs following the release of the latest Australian Podcast Ranker.
 
SEN’s Breakfast with Garry Lyon & Tim Watson is the number one breakfast show in Melbourne and Gerard Whateley’s ‘Whateley’ show the number one mornings show in Australia with over 1.1 million podcast downloads between them in the past month.
 

News podcast demand grows, but music declines: Podtrac

Podtrac have released their weekly US podcast data for the week of May 4 – 10, showing only a slight increase of audience numbers over the previous week.
 
The week was flat for downloads and up 1% for audience, but since January this year weekly downloads have increased by 25% and audience is up by 9%.

Bedtime Explorers, from Kinderling Kids Radio has been nominated for a Webby Award in the Apps, Mobile and Voice - Health, Fitness & Lifestyle category.

The nomination means Bedtime Explorers has been recognised as one of the five best programs in the world in the category of Health, Fitness & Lifestyle.

The category will have two winners, one voted by a panel, and one will be a public vote.

Bedtime Explorers has also been honoured in the Podcasts: Family & Kids Category.
