Placard Media, a boutique advertising agency focussed on the growing podcast market, today announced a partnership with podcast host Omny Studio, to pair Australian and New Zealand based audio publishers with advertisers and sponsors.

The ABC and WNYC Studios in New York have announced the co-production of a special five-episode season of Short & Curlywhich will ask children across the world a series of ethical questions grounded in everyday life.

The podcast co-production follows a successful season of Short & Curly released in Australia in 2015 and 2016, produced by the ABC’s Audio Studios team.

Omny Studio licences podcast platform to CBS Podcasts

Omny Studio has licensed its platform to America’s CBS Radio, granting access to Omny Studio’s podcast hosting, analytics, and social sharing tools.
Omny will provide infrastructure for the more than 350 original and on-demand CBS podcasts.

Inaugural podcasting awards the Castaways have been handed out

The Castaway Podcasting Awards were held over the weekend.

Over a year in the making, 11 trophies were up for grabs as the country's best podcasts awaited the results at Giant Dwarf, Redfern.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Timbo Reid, and featured a live storytelling performance from Story Club.

Radio is still the dominant medium for listening to audio in cars, followed by CDs then our own digital music collection, according to the latest Edison/Triton Infinite Dial research.

The next three sources of audio listening in cars are: online radio, satellite radio and podcasts.

Out of the car, podcast listening has increased, especially in the home. About 42 million Americans were estimated to have listened to a podcast in the past week, 15% of the population.
