NZME CEO Jane Hastings leaves to pursue other opportuities

APN News & Media Limited has announced the resignation of Jane Hastings as chief executive officer of NZME, and the appointment of current NZME chief financial officer, Michael Boggs as her replacement, effective Friday 8th April, 2016.

Jane Hastings has been with the APN Group since May 2012 leading TRN to strong growth, and in her current role since September 2014 where she led the successful formation of NZME.

Michael Boggs will report to APN Chief Executive Officer Ciaran Davis.

After 27 years with SCA, Craig Bruce left  in August last year and set up his own consulting company.

Tributes are flowing on social media following the death of Bill Ali.
The original face and voice of FMTV in Perth lost his battle with cancer on the weekend.
Bill was on drive through the 80’s on the original 96fm but his career stems back to back to Brisbane’s 4BC and also at Melbourne’s 3XY.

NZME launch new Christchurch radio station

NZME has announced a new radio station Mix will start broadcasting from Christchurch on Monday, June 15th on localised frequency 91.7 FM.

The station will play a continuous blend of the very best music from the 80's and 90's with a mixture of tempo and genre.

Mix Content Director, Raylene Ramsay says the team is thrilled to launch Mix in Christchurch and offer people an exciting music alternative.

NZ survey released

Results are in for the first NZME commissioned, New Zealand ratings survey conducted by TNS.

Earlier this year, NZME announced it would fund TNS to continue surveying New Zealand radio after the Radio Broadcasters Association cancelled their survey funding to search for a more comprehensive ratings system.

NZME's Hokonui radio hits Hawera Airwaves

NZME Radio will launch Hokonui Radio, a dedicated rural radio station in Hawera, NZ on April 7. Listeners can now tune in on 88.2FM or 1557AM.

Local talent Bryan Vickery will be moving from Coast to host the new Hokonui Breakfast show from 6am to 9am weekdays.

 “It's a privilege to be the first presenter to front the Hokonui Breakfast show,” Vickery says. “I’m excited because its local radio at its very best. Plus the music will be awesome with one great song after another.

New Zealand's Radio Bureau begins new chapter

MediaWorks and NZME have moved to clarify speculation about the future of The Radio Bureau, announcing that the future of the organisation "remains solid and secure."

 MediaWorks, NZME, and the independent radio stations are working together to re-shape The Radio Bureau so it best meets the changing demands of the market.

NZME and iHeartRadio launch In-Store Radio

NZME has launched In-Store Radio, powered by iHeartRadio NZ, for retailer businesses across New Zealand.

In-Store Radio is a way for retailers to create a customised station that plays in-store to create ‘the right’ environment and communicate key messages to customers.

Sarah Gandy back on air at ZM

Former ZM radio announcer Sarah Gandy is returning to the airwaves on The Hits and Mix after a stint as ZM’s Content Director.

Chief Content Officer for NZME Radio, Gemma Fordham said, “Sarah has worked tirelessly over the past 18 months to transition the ZM brand to what it is now. Sarah has lead the team with immense enthusiasm and passion. Sarah spoke to us some time ago about her desire to return to an on air role, she is an outstanding announcer and we are excited she will be joining the Hits and Mix.”
