NZME’s Newstalk ZB remains at the top of the ratings in the latest GFK Survey for New Zealand radio released today.
Newstalk ZB and The Breeze both had small gains of 0.2 consolidating their positions as the top 2 stations, while More FM remains at number three with The Sound and The Coast now at equal number five.

Newstalk ZB has maintained its lead nationally in New Zealand in the latest GFK survey figures out today, despite easing 1.4 to 11.0.
Newstalk ZB still leads The Breeze (9.0) with More FM (8.3) moving in front of Magic Music & Talk (7.9).
The king of breakfast, Mike Hosking, dropped back by 2.1 to 15.1 in front of the second-placed Breakfast Club on More FM with Gary, Lana, JMac, Sam, Bondy & Speedy unchanged on  9.7.

Newstalk ZB has extended its lead nationally in New Zealand in the latest GFK survey figures out today.

With a national share of 12.4, Newstalk ZB leads The Breeze (8.6) and Magic Music & Talk (8.0).

The king of breakfast, Mike Hosking now has national share of 17.2 on Newstalk ZB, almost double that of the second-place Breakfast Club on More FM with Gary, Lana, JMac, Sam, Bondy & Speedy who improved by 0.5 to 9.7.

NZME and Partners have over two million listeners, according to the latest 2017 GfK independent radio survey.

NZME’s Chief Commercial Officer, Laura Maxwell says that NZME’s radio is ‘on a roll’ with 54,500 new listeners, now reaching 60% of all radio listeners. In addition, iHeartRadio registered users have increased by 33% year on year to over 631,000†.

NZ commerce commission declines NZME/Fairfax merger

The Commerce Commission has released its final decision declining authorisation for NZME and Fairfax to merge their media operations in New Zealand.

The merger proposed to bring New Zealand’s two largest newspaper networks and corresponding online news sites under common ownership.

APN shareholders overwhelmingly approve NZME demerger

APN News and Media Limited shareholders have voted in favour of the demerger of its New Zealand business NZME.
It was an overwhelming vote with 99.98% of shareholders in favour.
APN and Fairfax confirmed NZ merger plans following the May AGM, with APN extending a halt in trading on the stock exchange.
