smoothfm brightens one listener's Christmas

Sydneysider Annette from Camden is set for a wonderful Christmas after she correctly guessed smoothfms four smooth stars voices and won the $90,100 cash jackpot. 
 
This morning Ty Frost took the call from Annette, a retired mother of two, and confirmed that English actress Hayley Mills was the final smooth stars voice, earning Anette the life-changing cash jackpot.

The news is so big that some media outlets couldn’t resist the urge to break the embargo that Nova Entertainment had imposed so that it could be announced first at 8:05 am across the network in Breakfast this morning AEST.

Over the years Nova has certainly bagged some of the biggest stars for their intimate invitation only Red Room gigs that typically have only two or three hundred in the audience. But Taylor Swift is arguably the biggest star yet.

smoothfm suite extends to Sydney

Nova Entertainment has extended the smoothfm brand’s experiential platform into Sydney, following the launch of the smooth suite in Melbourne last year.
 
The suite is luxurious “pop up” accommodation designed to create a brand immersion experience, helping smoothfm listeners unwind.
 
It is located at the InterContinental, Sydney Double Bay and The Prince of Wales in St Kilda and has been created as an easy place to relax.
 

SCA appoints new director of digital sales and operations

Southern Cross Austereo has announced Steve Brown is its Director of Digital Sales and Operations, effective 27th August 2015. Mr Brown will take on the leadership role replacing James Bayes.

He’ll focus on growing digital sales, driving programmatic and supporting key partnerships

With an extensive media career, and over 10 years working across radio both in Australia with the Australian Radio Network and Nova Entertainment, and the United States with Clear Channel, Mr Brown has an all- inclusive understanding and passion for the value of digital in the media landscape. When radioinfo caught up with Steve Blanda recently (read here), he revealed how he had shed a tear listening to the final 2UE bulletin from his hotel room in London.
 
Steve was on holiday when he went through the formal process of being made redundant following the Fairfax Macquarie merger – he came back to Australia unemployed.
