Fordham preps for breakfast at Alan's home studio during his week off

Ben Fordham, Alan Jones and Nine Radio are all working hard to ensure a smooth transition next week when Jones retires and Fordham takes over on 2GB breakfast.

Last night Fordham had dinner then stayed over at Alan Jones' country property so he could be up at the crack of dawn to see how the breakfast show works first hand.

Fordham has worked at the other end of the day for many years, but It's not the first time he has sat in on Jones' breakfast show. As a kid he did work experience on that program.

Not 2UE's finest hour

2UE dropped its Macquarie Sports Radio format at the beginning of this week and is transitioning to a new music format through a 'soft launch,' as explained to radioinfo a couple of weeks ago.

radioinfo readers who have been listening to the station report that this first week has not been smooth. As the station dropped its live announcers and switched to automation it has been beset with technical glitches.

We're back...Nine resurrects 2UE, Magic and 4BH

Nine has announced a move to a music format playing the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s across its stations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, along with digital radio in Perth, killing off the Macquarie Sports Radio brand.
