Del Fordham joins News Corp's podcast division

Del Fordham has been appointed head of audio for News Corp Australia's audio network, NewsCast.

He will lead News Corp Australia’s audio network strategy and work alongside the company’s brands and editorial teams on original audio content development and production.

Michael Miller knows news, and he knows radio.

He is now the Executive Chairman of News Corp and was previously the CEO of APN, which owns the Australlian Radio Network.

Miller is concerned by a new trend he sees happening in the emerging audio space.

Google is urging radio stations to format and bookmark their audio news content in a way that will enable the world wide search engine giant to slice and dice content to deliver it to its consumers in a way that suits their preferences.

100 per cent strike rate for CSU

Charles Sturt University is celebrating after 100% of their graduates in the revised radio course scored jobs with the radio and media industries.
Lecturer and radio discipline group leader in the CSU School of Communication and Creative Industries in Bathurst, David Maxwell said graduates of the Bachelor of Communication (Radio)  can be found in diverse roles within the radio industry.
"All of this year's graduates now have jobs in the radio industry or related media organisations," Mr Maxwell said.

O'Reilly sells final stake in APN to News Corp

Two major shareholders of APN, Independent News & Media and Baycliffe Limited have sold their shares in the company at $0.88 per share via a block trade.
Previously, Tony O'Reilly's INM held 18.6 per cent of APN and Baycliffe held 12.2 per cent.
Following the block trade, News Corporation will build an investment in APN to 14.99 per cent, subject to regulatory approval.
