From next year it will be Merrick & Rosso & Ritchie – or some combination thereof. Nova 969 has today announced Kate Ritchie will be joining the Merrick & Rosso Breakfast Show in January 2008. The Gold Logie winner has been a great friend of Nova’s, since co-hosting The Akmal Show in Drive, at the start of 2007.

Nova 969 General Manager Mandi Wicks told radioinfo,
“We have always wanted to work with Kate full-time – she has enormous potential and listeners love her.”

Two months ago, Kate announced she would be leaving Home and Away after 20 years, filming her final scenes in mid-December, “I had such a great time working with Akmal earlier in the year and I’m excited that Nova has invited me back on board.” Kate said today.

“Radio is the new and exciting challenge I was looking for. I’ve always loved talking to the boys over the years and can’t wait to join them every morning … even if it is 5am”’, said Kate.

Rosso was looking forward to the fresh face saying, “Kate will bring something that has always been lacking from our show … a Gold Logie”.
