ME Bank pulls advertising from 2GB

There has been significant backlash for Alan Jones comments about New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern with ME Bank not only expressing their concerns to 2GB, but also pulling their advertising.

Former PM Malcolm Turnbull and current PM Scott Morrison have also weighed in, expressing their disappointment at the remarks aired yesterday when he suggested told his audience that the NZ Prime Minister was “… a joke, this woman, an absolute and utter lightweight … I just wonder whether Scott Morrison is going to be fully briefed to shove a sock down her throat.”

Jones later claimed his remarks regarding the New Zealand Prime Minister had suffered from “wilful misinterpretation”, and in a statement said “Of course what I meant to say was that Scott Morrison should tell Ms Ardern to ‘put a sock in it’.”
