Masters defends Jonestown

Chris Masters, author of the Jonestown biography has responded to Paul Sheehan‘s criticism of the book in today’s Sydney Morning Herald.

Masters says Sheehan has been pro-Alan Jones in the past, “When Sheehan profiled Jones upon his move to 2GB (Herald, February 9, 2002), the account was glowing. I saw no mention of the notorious cash-for-comment affair still fresh in other people’s minds. The admiration is mutual. Jones has done his bit to promote sales of Sheehan’s books.”

Masters goes on to position his tome as “between extremes of adulation and contempt. Sheehan does not give enough credit to Jonestown for my attention to this middle ground.”
