ACE Radio goes local in afternoon shifts

Ace Radio stations in Albury, Warrnambool, Colac and Swan Hill will drop the networked Tom Elliott talk show from 3AW this year.

Ace CEO Mark Taylor has told radioinfo the stations will revert to local music programming in that shift.

Ace has a number of new initiatives this year, including Nova's Kate, Tim and Marty drive shift.

The ACE Radio Network is once again getting behind the Variety Bash as major communications sponsor and media partner.

Heading off last Friday, the team is winding their way from Melbourne to Fraser Island Queensland in three seperate cars raising money for the children's charity.

"That's 3224 kilometres and in our car which is a 1976 Statesman HX", says host of The Morning Rush Jon Vertigan.

"We are spending lots on petrol! Roughly $100 per day."

Mark Taylor has been appointed as the new CEO of ACE Radio Broadcasters, replacing Stephen Everett who will officially retire at the end of February 2016. 

Everett will assist Taylor over the next few months to ensure the change over is a smooth one that will see ACE Radio continuing to grow and excel.

Horsham survey due this morning

Results from the first radio industry audience measurement survey in Horsham in 6 years will be released shortly.

Local Horsham radio stations commissioned Xtra Research to carry out the survey which involved 600 respondents and was conducted between 3 November and 16 November 2014.
