Southern Cross Austereo has announced a new nightly show.

The Greatest Years in Music, will be launched in July across its regional LocalWorks radio network.

The Greatest Years in Music will be on-air from Monday July 27th, hosted by Christian Argenti, former lead singer of Australian band Invertigo, and celebrating the best years in music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

The Greatest Years in Music will be heard across all LocalWorks stations in regional Australia, broadcasting from 7pm – 10pm every weeknight.

The three hour show, dedicated to the big names and timeless classics from this era, will be brought to life through an array of artists as well as hourly features allowing listener participation, requests and prize giveaways.

Head of Regional Content for Southern Cross Austereo, Mickey Maher, said he is looking forward to the show’s launch at the end of July.

“I cannot wait for it to go live! A three hour show filled with awesome music and heavy listener interaction is just what our regional listeners love and are keen to get more of. We’re also looking forward to having Christian lead the way hosting the show. He’ll bring a lot of knowledge and insight to the stories behind the music, as well as years of radio experience through his previous roles”.

Argenti previously hosted the national regional show Talking Back The Night from 2010, but now looks forward to moving into his most exciting radio gig to date.
