ARN expands KIIS network drive show

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced the KIIS Networks Drive Show, Hughesy & Kate, will be driving listeners home nationally with their addition on Perth’s 96FM from 4pm on June 22.

Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of Hughesy & Kate taking out the #1FM* network drive position.

Tears as Kyle and Jackie O pull off dream wedding

When KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O surprised struggling young Sydney couple Kya and Matt Debono by giving them a dream wedding, worth $80,000, the couple thought things couldn’t get any better.

But Kyle & Jackie, who were among the wedding guests today, had one more surprise.

Kya and Matt had chosen ‘Thinking Out Loud’, their favourite song, as the first dance as husband and wife but they never imagined Ed Sheeran himself would stop by the reception to perform it for them and there wasn’t a dry eye.

In a message posted on the Kiss website Gene Simmons has apologised for his comments about depression.

"I was wrong and in the spur of the moment made remarks that in hindsight were made without regard for those who truly suffer the struggles of depression. I sincerely apologize..."

Reacting to Simmons' comments, Head of Triple M, Mike Fitzpatrick, has removed all Kiss tracks from Triple M's nationwide playlist.

Fitzpatrick said on the Triple M website:

Late last year radioinfo covered the ongoing legal battle between Kiss FM in Melbourne and the ARN's new KIIS FM in Sydney.

Today, ARN has released a statement confirming that the two stations have reached a mutual and confidential agreement and will both continue to broadcast under their respective names. No more information of the agreement is available at this point.
