In the aftermath of the #LibSpill with Macolm Turnbull now leading our country, it appears the Tony Abbott’s right hand man and former treasurer Joe Hockey is out of a job.

K-Rock Geelong’s own Buckle and Hunter, had some fun announcing they had stumbled across some exclusive audio of Hockey’s next step. The breakfast duo said that he has taken a different path to what we may have all expected when looking for employment.

Leroy Brown leaves the B Team

After 5 years at Geelong's K-Rock, Leroy Brown has called it quits from the B-Team.

Leroy's final shift with the breakfast show is this Friday before he heads to 89.9 Light FM and the drive shift.

After teasing an announcement across the long weekend Leroy announced his departure from the show live on-air this morning.

"The reason why I am leaving is to wake up with my wife everyday, take the kids to school, butter their toast and in general I need a healthier lifestyle away from early starts."

The last time a spider and a toilet featured on radio was in 1972 when the late, great John Pearce on 2GB suggested that he could make any song a hit, no matter how bad, with enough airplay.

To prove his point, he put Redback on the Toilet Seat by Slim Newton on high rotation - which was a lot given Pearce hosted a talk show. The song went on to peak at No. 3 on the Go-Set National Top 40.

Who wouldn't want to win a 1989 Nissan Urvan? 

Uni student Michael from Torquay was thrilled to become the new owner when was woken up at 7am with “Buckle” the “ranga santa” delivering his brand new ride.

This partifcular Urvan has recently had a new lease on life after receiving the full “K-ROCK” treatment.

Geelong station 95.5 K-ROCK and a bunch of businesses had got together over a four week period to trick up the ultimate ‘House, Car and Land’.

Chicken Dyer calls it a day on K-ROCK’s B-TEAM

After almost 6 years co-hosting breakfast radio in Geelong, Paul ‘Chicken’ Dyer has called time on what he described as being a great experience.

A former 2004 Big Brother contestant, fanatical surfer and owner of surf company Winkipop Surf Industry, Dyer said:

“Being a breakfast announcer has evolved in so many ways in 6 years. Long hours, lots of meetings and lots of appearances. I look forward to a quieter (not so) public life, I also look forward to being my own boss again.”

This winter more than a thousand homeless people will be a little less chilly thanks to the generosity of hundreds of Geelong locals, who’ve helped to literally blanket the Museum.
