It’s well-documented that WSFM’s Amanda Keller has a love for Barry Manilow.

She has loved him since she was a teenager, when posters of Barry covered her bedroom walls. Young Amanda’s diary entries were filled with fantasies of marrying Barry, wearing matching knitted sweaters and snuggling on the couch together.
 

It’s not often that a station’s Audio Producer steps up to the mic, but on WSFM this morning with Jonesy & Amanda, AP David Post weighed in on the sound effects used to promote SBS’s controversial show Struggle Street.

Postie suspected that the infamous “fart” from the promo for the TV show was actually a sound effect - disc 13, track 89 of a popular pre-recorded sound effects series to be exact.
 
His trained ear, from more than 20 years’ experience industry, picked up the familiar fart noise almost immediately.

Radio announcers around the country are showing their support following Carrie Bickmore's Gold Logie acceptance speech last night,  in which she asked everyone in Australia to wear a beanie today to help raise awareness of brain cancer.

The TV personality lost her husband Greg Lange to the disease in 2010 and last night accepted the Logie in his honour.

Among those wearing their beanie is Zinc 100.7 announcer Bel.

A fire alarm at ARN Sydney this morning led to the on air evacuation of the KIIS, The Edge 96.One and WSFM studios.

On KIIS 1065, Kyle & Jackie O had to cut short a phone interview with British pop superstar Charlie XCX despite the objection of Sandilands.

“We have to go, they’re being serious.” warned Jackie.

 “You can go, I’m just going to talk to Charli for a bit.” replied Kyle.

The dynamic duo of radio celbrate 10 years sind they were first manacled together.

Amanda Keller cried tears of joy as her teenage (and adult) crush Barry Manilow sang a few bars of  “Mandy” to her and she fulfilled her lifelong  dream of interviewing the legendary singer-songwriter.
