Following the $84 million ABC funding freeze announced at the Federal Budget in May, the national broadcaster has launched the 'Future of your ABC' webpage as part of its campaign to fight the cuts.

ABC broadcaster Red Symons will return to the airwaves next week after suffering a significant brain injury in a fall two months ago.

Red Symons has suffered a "significant injury to his brain" according to his ABC Radio Melbourne colleague Jon Faine.

It was earlier this month the breakfast announcer was hospitalised following a fall caused by a 'sudden lack of conciousness'.

Faine told listeners this morning Symons was "doing well" and had sent a "big cheerio" to everyone.

Gold Logie winner and host of Network Ten's The Project, Waleed Aly has revealed he never thought he had the 'skill set' to do radio.

Speaking with Rachel Corbett in the Podcast series You've Gotta Start Somewhere, Waleed has spoken about his foray into radio after writing articles for newspapers while working as a lawyer.

"Jon Faine (ABC) had read a couple of pieces," he says.

Ray Hadley has dumped Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison from a regular Monday chat segment, because he felt Morrison's office did not tell him the truth about where Morrison would be at the regular planned time this week.

At the time he was scheduled to do his regular chat with Hadley, the Treasurer was on air on ABC Radio Melbourne with Jon Faine. The Faine chat went for about 20 minutes, between about 9:05 to 9:25, where he talked about the upcoming budget, housing affordability and state government funding.

This Friday, Jon Faine celebrates two decades of broadcasting the Morning Program on 774 ABC Melbourne and 28 years since joining the ABC.
To mark this milestone, Faine’s last radio show for 2016 will be a live broadcast party, from 8.30am at the MPavilion on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne. 

Spencer Howson's last day at 612 ABC Brisbane

One of Brisbane's most familiar breakfast radio voices says goodbye after 11 years.
Spencer Howson is looking forward to switching off the 3:30am alarm and spending more time with his family.
Howson first hosted Breakfast in 1997 through till 2000. He then returned at the start of 2006 giving 612 ABC Brisbane its first win in the early-morning radio ratings since 1984.
