President of the Community Broadcasting Foundation, Ian Hamm has welcomed participants to this year’s CBAA virtual conference, reflecting on a “year like no other”
In a year that has not only been a challenge for the broadcasting community, but Australia as a whole, with bushfires, a drought and now a pandemic and the possibility of floods at the end of the year, he says that “this year has shown the real value of community broadcasting”

Applications for the COVID-19 Quick Response Grant open today

The COVID-19 Quick Response Grant for community radio stations, announced by CBF President Ian Hamm last week, opens today.
This grant the first in a series of measures to help support community stations manage the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and is a one-off opportunity for stations to access funds to help maintain operations under COVID-19 social distancing requirements.
