This morning i98FM’s breakfast show hosts , Marty, Crammy and Lyndal announced that the Illawarra Convoy’s final tally this years is $1,050,327.11.
This means that a total of $17,215.425.02 has been donated in the event’s 16-year history.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the largest truck and motorbike Convoy in the Southern Hemisphere, along with the free family fun day at Shellharbour Airport was unable to go ahead as anticipated, and was instead replaced with Convoy at Home on Sunday, November 15.

i98FM’s Illawarra Convoy broke all records for funds raised with a monumental final tally of $2,760,974 announced with Breakfast Show hosts Marty, Christie & Crammy.
The Convoy which was held last Sunday, November 17 now means that a total of $16,165,097 has been donated in the event’s 15 year history.
The day saw 753 trucks and 913 motorbikes travel over 70 kilometres from Illawarra Coal’s West Cliff Colliery at Appin, through the streets of the Illawarra to finish up at Shellharbour Airport.
This Sunday, the Yates family will lead the motorbikes for the i98FM Illawarra Convoy with ‘Kye’s Convoy Dream’ in honour 10-year-old Kye Yates who sadly passed away in June this year.
Bidding for the lead bikes was understandably emotional this morning during the Marty, Christie & Crammy Breakfast Show on i98 as Kye’s Mum, Dad and two sisters placed their final bid of $105,000.

i98FM will continue to be a media sponsor for the Illawarra Hawks 2019/2020 NBL season, as well as the official Hawks player partner for American basketball sensation, LaMelo Ball who signed with the Hawks earlier this year.
LaMelo, considered a top prospect for the 2020 NBA Draft, told Breakfast Show hosts Marty, Christie & Crammy his time in the Illawarra so far has “…been nice out here, the weather is good and everybody around here’s nice - it’s a real good vibe.”
Lachlan Kitchen is leaving i98fm Illawarra after 15 years.
Lachlan joined the station as a 23 year old and says “I’ve learned so much and gained so much... ACRA wins, survey wins, overseas trips I’ve had a career one could only dream about. However it is the friendships and the love from the audience that I will take with me always."
His departure from the station comes after the offer of a contract extension, an offer that he has turned down.

In a survey conducted by Xtra Insights that involved up to 1200 respondents between 15 October to 3 November 2018, both stations consolidated audience with Wave FM up to 16.2 and i98 FM up to 29.1.
ABC Illawarra also added some audience to move to 15.3.
