HITZ 939 education initiative praised by Minister

Jack Dempsey MP, State Member for Bundaberg has praised the efforts of Bundaberg Broadcaster’s HITZ 939 for their latest on air and on line promotion, “Apple For The Teacher”.
 
Mr Dempsey, Queensland Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services posted on Facebook; “It is fantastic to have so many people praising and recognising our wonderful local teachers as a result of this competition. Good luck to the finalists”.
 
Mr Dempsey went on to name the finalists who are now in the running for an Apple iPad for the winning teacher and school plus every student in the winning class will receive an Apple iPod Shuffle.
 
Promotion Co-ordinator for the Bundaberg Broadcasters, Tracey Sergiacomi re-worked the format for the promotion from similar events run throughout the Grant Broadcasters network to appeal to the local Bundaberg community with huge success.
 
Tracey Sergiacomi said, “It’s amazing the wonderful things children and parents had to say about their teachers, and we are looking forward to announcing the overall winner”.
 
The promotion was driven on air with the HITZ 939 Breakfast Team of Pete and Trace, and supported throughout the day with Simone Bailey from 10 till 2 and the “Back Seat” afternoon show.
 
Over 3000 nominations were submitted during the first 2 weeks and voting for the finalists will be open until 2nd of April, with the winner announced during the Breakfast Show on Friday 4th of April. For more details and voting visit www.hitz939.com.au
