Canberra fireworks mishap under investigation

A fireworks display sponsored by Canberra's Hit104.7 is under investigation following a mishap on Saturday night.

Investigations into the nights pyrotechnic mishap is being undertaken by organisers Foti International Fireworks, who told ABC News yesterday it was investigating the cause of the malfunction and no-one had been injured in the incident.

Fireworks on one of the barges used for the annual Skyfire at Enlighten event burst into flames sending sparks and embers towards spectators as they ran and ducked for cover.

2Day 'tweaks' music policy

Southern Cross Austereo has confirmed that 2Day FM has changed its music policy, as programs resume for the 2018 broadcast year.

After being appointed Content Director of Canberra’s Hit104.7 and MIX106.3 a couple of months ago, breakfast personality Rod Cuddihy will finish up his on-air duties at the end of June.

“It’s been a unique first major task...to find a replacement for myself,” Cuddihy said off the back of 15 years in breakfast radio.

“After an extensive process of demoing some of the country’s most talented personality anchors we couldn’t be more excited about the result.”

Courtney Davies will step up into the role of Drive Announcer on Mix 106.3 Canberra

Canberra FM Content Director Jason Matthews has told radioinfo:

"Courts has been outstanding on Hit mornings and I can’t wait for her to step across to Mix 106.3 drive. No doubt Courts will take her energetic vibe and fresh sound to Mix."

The change means that there is a role on Hit 104.7 to fill.
