Hit 106.9 reveal the secret to making popular music

More and more, music is being made by teams of people hell bent on making something as popular as possible but, are they all following the same formula?

Multiple artists on each track, a rapper coming from nowhere halfway through, ‘Woahs’ and ‘la las’ for no reason.

‘Every Pop Song (In Two Minutes)’ explains every trope in the popular music of today while itself being a catchy track written to follow its own formula.

After hearing it, you’ll start realising just how many songs contain at least some, if not all, of these clichés.

The tune was created by Nick Gill, alongside his Hit 106.9 Newcastle breakfast team of Simon Baggs, Jess Farchione and Ash Smith, alongside film maker Jackson Bingham and Mark ‘Doogie Brewer’.

The song also features a guest rap verse from none other than Dally M 2018 runner-up and NRL superstar Kalyn Ponga.
