Asbestos scare for SCA Toowoomba stations

Presenters at SCA's Triple M and Hit stations in Toowoomba will be broadcasting from alternative locations after asbestos was discovered in their building. 

"We will be on air from different locations, but we continue to run the business as usual... morale is high," General Manager Zac Manscawen has told radioinfo.

Manscawen says the station's building at 100 Margaret Street was undergoing routine repairs when the asbestos was found.

There were Seas and Hots and Stars plus a bevy of bits and bobs, all the result of numerous mergers and acquisitions that over several years brought together the considerable resources of stations from Austereo, RG Capital, DMG, Southern Cross, B105, Triple M, FOX and 2Day, among many others, to arrive at an owned network that today boasts the broadest commercial radio footprint Australia has ever seen.

Finally, today, all those disparate names and call signs have been wrangled, distilled and reduced to just two essential elements - HIT and Triple M. Well, almost.

Emma Freedman celebrates on Scoopla

Emma Freedman of the The Hit Network’s Scoopla show took out the 2015 mirrorball trophy on Channel Seven’s Dancing with The Stars and last night Freedman’s dancing partner Aric, second place winner Matt Mitcham as well as her dad Lee Freedman joined the show.

The show celebrated Freedman’s win as her dancing partner Aric, told her she could actually come back as one of the dancing pro’s to dance with a celeb in future series.

Brisbane's new hit105 launches

As expected B105 has this morning come into line with SCA’s Today Network dropping its heritage branding and launching as hit105.

The move follows B105 recently marking its 25th Birthday with a reunion and a facebook page full of memories.

SCA Director of Metro Operations Guy Dobson has written an internal memo to SCA staff confirming the much speculated rebrand of the Today Network.

SAFM rebranded to Hit earlier this year and now the branding is being spread to the whole network.
