Herald Sun columnist next to sign with ‘3GB’

Yesterday, when Herald Sun columnist Andrew Bolt Bolt failed to appear on his usual breakfast slot on the Fairfax-owned 3AW, there was frenzied speculation that he would be the next presenter to sign on at the Macquarie Network’s as yet unnamed Melbourne station. He will be joining the new station, but not as a full time presenter.

Bolt will continue his work at the Herald Sun and become a regular guest on Steve Price’s show.

Bolt wrote on his blog late yesterday:

“I’ve signed on to what will essentially be a new radio station – one that promises some straight talking.

“We’ll broadcast from what’s now 3MP.

“I’ll appear each weekday for a good long session with Steve Price, the Obama-cheering, Bush-bashing snowfield socialist. It’s the best opposition they could find, but I’m not losing sleep. In fact, it should be fun.

Of course, I’ll still be doing everything for and with the Herald Sun that I’ve done so happily for years. Blog included.

I’m planning to use this blog to help prepare for and steer this show each morning. How that will work depends on what time I’ll appear, and how things actually work out, but your tips could soon have an even bigger effect than they do already.”
