Hamish & Andy are"officialy" back on Today’s Hit Network  4-6pm weekdays from Monday, 13 July BUT...

Radio announcers around the country are showing their support following Carrie Bickmore's Gold Logie acceptance speech last night,  in which she asked everyone in Australia to wear a beanie today to help raise awareness of brain cancer.

The TV personality lost her husband Greg Lange to the disease in 2010 and last night accepted the Logie in his honour.

Among those wearing their beanie is Zinc 100.7 announcer Bel.

SCA has confirmed that Woolworths Supermarkets is the official launch partner of the upcoming Hamish & Andy Drive show, as of June this year.

Woolworths Supermarkets CMO Tony Phillips said: "There's nothing Cheap Cheap about Hamish and Andy. And we think they're pretty fresh. Woolworths is delighted to sponsor their return to the airwaves."

Tim Lee will host drive on 2Day FM from January 2015 until Hamish and Andy return to the seat in July, according to a post he made on Facebook.

"As of beginning of January I'm doing drive on 2Day FM, warming the seat for Hamish & Andy until they're back in July! More to come on what happens after that, but pretty excited the Lee-Evans family is giving Sydney a second shot in whats shaping up to be a big year”

Tim is leaving ARN Melbourne where he was working as a 'Digital Content Producer' and is rejoining SCA.

By the time SCA finally announced the return of Hamish and Andy to the Today Network, the news was enough to lift the company's share price by 25%.

It goes without saying that if Merrick & Rosso got back together, they'd be in one hell of a good negotiating position.

Radio networks, in particular Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) and the Australian Radio Network (ARN), have been busily lining up their chess pieces for a very serious game of Who Can Win The Survey Across The Board next year.

When SCA’s Head of Content, Craig Bruce (CB) booked a call to radioinfo this afternoon, our money was on him announcing that Brisbane’s B105 would be rebranded hit105. “I love how, in this industry, rumours so quickly turn into fact,” says CB. “We’re nowhere near talking about a rebrand of Brisbane yet.”

Not that he would reveal anything before he was ready to, but everything that’s happened at the network over the past few weeks seems to point towards a rebrand in Brisbane and then… Sydney. 

It was time to feast at the weekend when Hamish & Andy were joined by competition winners for a Chilean BBQ dinner party in Santiago.

The event took place ahead of the final episode of their hugely successfuly TV series airing, Hamish & Andy's Gap Year South America. Fourteen Today Network competition winners from around Australian joined the boys thanks to corporate partners CC's and Channel Nine.
