Hot91.1 and Zinc96.1 announce change of management

Hot91.1 and Zinc96 Troy ‘Chooky’ Deighton is stepping out of the General Manager role to head up a newly formed department for the Grant Broadcasters radio network as Digital and New Media Manager.

In his place returns former Hot91 and Zinc96 General Manager Steve Hirst who has spent the past 2.5 years looking after syndication and various digital radio projects with Nova.

Deighton will remain located in Maroochydore, the Queensland and Northern Territory hub for Grant Broadcasters.

KIX goes national

A new era in the Country Music Network begins this Sunday 12th April, when country music networks KIX, HOT and TOP Country come together.

Grant Broadcasters, which own and operates the narrowcast services that form Australia’s country music networks will join their country radio families under the KIX brand.

Allan Cameron has been appointed the new Group Content Director for Grant Broadcasters and 7HO FM in Tasmania.

Ross Turner, who previously occupied the Tasmania Content Director role will remain within Grant Broadcasters as Group Content Director for the Sunshine Coast.

Cameron has worked as a Program Director in regional NSW and Adelaide prior to a four year stint as Content Director for the Star Radio Group in Malaysia.

Listener signatures send brekkie host into Globe of Death

The Silvers Circus said yes and so did his wife, but Ross from Power FM Ballarat needed 500 listeners’ signatures before his mum would let him enter the Globe of Death.

With the Silvers Circus in town Ross thought it would be the perfect opportunity to give one of the most famous circus stunts a try.

The brekkie show host managed to get the signatures together in just two days to enter the mesh sphere while motorcycles rode in circles around him.

He may have campaigned hard for the experience but he looked pretty happy one it was over. Check out the video here:
